Salina is located in the center of the Aeolian Islands and can be reached either by sea (by hydrofoil or ferry from Milazzo, Messina, Reggio Calabria, Palermo and Naples), or by helicopter.
The nearest airport is Catania Fontanarossa; from Catania you can reach Milazzo by public transport, private shuttle or organized transfer and from there you can take the hydrofoil to the port of Santa Marina di Salina.
Malfa is about 7 km from the ports of Santa Marina and Rinella and can be reached both by taxi and by bus.
