A food and wine journey

We are in Italy. We are in Sicily. Food is a religion, seasoned with extra virgin olive oil and accompanied by excellent local wine.

Citrus plants, capers, olive trees, and vineyards provide the backdrop for your walks in Salina and produce ingredients that are the foundation of the island’s food and wine offerings. We could spend hours trying to describe the Aeolian flavors and aromas, but we still wouldn’t capture the richness of the cuisine.

From home restaurants to Michelin-starred venues, in Salina you’ll definitely find what suits you: an Aeolian salad in the town square, freshly caught fish simply seasoned to enhance its flavor, a refined dish resulting from constant research, homemade citrus marmalade, ‘pane cunzato’ with a sea view, a granita with brioche after a day on the boat, an arancino (yes, here it’s masculine) to curb your hunger, a prickly pear picked from the plant (but be careful of the thorns), a tasting of local wine.

At Frangimare, we can give you the best advice, whether you want to dine out or have an intimate dinner in your Segreta suite, prepared with citrus fruits, herbs, and tomatoes from our garden.
And don’t forget that if you rent one of the villas exclusively, you have the option to request the services of our chefs for a private lunch or dinner, a pool party, or a garden barbecue. A culinary experience with multiple courses that change according to the season and the inspiration of our chefs.
To give you some examples, certainly not exhaustive: street food appetizers with typical fried items, octopus salad, caponata, first courses from land and sea (pasta alla norma, pasta with the catch of the day, etc.), main courses from land and sea (sweet and sour fish meatballs, Messina-style chops, squid stuffed with Malvasia, etc.), catch of the day, typical desserts, Malvasia and piparelli. All, of course, accompanied by excellent wine.
